Inuussutigut // Ealát

Come to the vernissage on Thursday the 23rd of October at 6pm!

Nuuk Art Museum and the Sami artist collective Dáiddadállu present Inuussutigut // Ealát – an exhibition that brings Greenlandic and Sami artists together in a unique encounter between two Arctic cultures.

The exhibition opens in connection with the Suialaa Arts Festival and brings together artists who work with related themes, materials and stories from their respective northern horizons.

Through different art forms and performance, common experiences and differences in life, language and landscape are explored. With contributions from, among others, Arnajaraq Støvlbæk, Lisbeth Karline Poulsen, Máret Ánne Sara and Hilde Skancke Pedersen, a conversation is created about heritage, identity and place.

In the encounter between works such as Aanaa (grandmother in Greenlandic) and Akku (grandmother in Sami), stories of generations, care and continuity are intertwined across the Arctic North.

The exhibition will be on display at Nuuk Art Museum until January 2026 and will be part of a larger collaboration that also includes performance, dance and conversations in the urban space.

The vernissage happens on Thursday the 23rd of October at 6 pm, with free entrance for all. There will be snacks and coffee/tea. Come and participate – see you there, takuss!

The exhibition is sponsored by Birgejumpi, NAPA – The Nordic Institute in Greenland, The Nordic Council of Ministers and Nuuk Lokaludvalg under the Municipality of Sermersooq.
